Supporting wellbeing in legal practice: Join us in Leicester this September

Wellbeing matters at every stage of a legal career. That’s why The Solicitors’ Charity is pleased to be joining Leicestershire Law Society and Resolution Leicestershire for their Wellbeing in Legal Practice conference this September.

Taking place at Mattioli Woods in Leicester on Tuesday 22 September, the event will bring together legal professionals and wellbeing experts for an evening of practical advice, discussion, and shared learning.

Putting wellbeing at the heart of legal practice

Working in law can be hugely rewarding, but it can also bring significant pressures. Managing demanding workloads, supporting clients through difficult circumstances and balancing professional responsibilities with life outside work can all take their toll.

The Wellbeing in Legal Practice conference will explore practical ways legal professionals can support both their own wellbeing and that of their colleagues and clients, with conversations spanning mental health, resilience, communication, and professional support.

It’s an important conversation, and one that closely reflects our belief that looking after the whole self, including those people that make up the profession and a law practice, is essential to creating a healthier and more sustainable working environment and workforce.

The Solicitors’ Charity joining the conversation

We’re delighted that Anita McCallum, Director of Impact and Development at The Solicitors’ Charity, will be joining the event’s speaker line-up. Anita will share perspectives from our work supporting solicitors and their dependants, helping to raise awareness of the support available and the importance of recognising when you, a colleague or someone else within the profession might need help.

At The Solicitors’ Charity, we know that wellbeing isn’t one-dimensional. Challenges in one part of life can quickly affect another, which is why our support considers the whole person and their emotional, physical, professional, and financial wellbeing.

Anita will join Dr Nina Francis, Professor Marcello Giovanelli, Annmarie Carvalho, and Helen Shaw, bringing together different perspectives on how we can better promote and support wellbeing within firms.
