Bristol Legal Awards 2026: our Chair takes centre stage

On Thursday 5 November, the legal community of Bristol and Bath comes together for one of the highlights of the local calendar. This year, our Chair, Dr I. Stephanie Boyce CBE, is a keynote speaker at the evening.

Celebrating the legal community of Bristol and Bath

Bristol Law Society’s flagship black-tie dinner celebrates the people who make the region’s legal profession what it is. That means law firms and chambers, in-house lawyers, business support teams and those just starting out. Sixteen awards will be presented on the night, recognising everything from pro bono work and community impact to rising stars and the support teams who keep firms running. Congratulations to everyone shortlisted, and to the award winners!

Recognising wellbeing in the legal profession

One category stands out for us: Diversity, Inclusion and Wellbeing Initiative of the Year. It shows that looking after people is now part of what excellence in law looks like, and we’d love to see more of that across the sector.

Dr I. Stephanie Boyce CBE: a voice for solicitor wellbeing

Stephanie is no stranger to a room full of lawyers. She made history as the first person of colour to serve as President of the Law Society of England and Wales, and as our Chair she has been a passionate voice for the wellbeing of the profession.

As she put it on The Legal Pause: “Having done so much work getting people in, it is not enough just to stop there. We need to help people be sustained in our profession and thrive in our profession.”

Bristol Law Society supports The Solicitors’ Charity

We’re really grateful that Bristol Law Society is making a donation to The Solicitors’ Charity. Local law societies sit at the heart of their legal communities. Their support helps us reach solicitors and their dependants when life gets difficult, wherever they are in England and Wales.

Support for solicitors and their dependants

Whether you’re just starting out or decades into your career, if things feel hard right now, we’re here for you.
