The Solicitors’ Charity invited to attend King’s Buckingham Palace Garden Party

Representatives from The Solicitors’ Charity were honoured to attend a Buckingham Palace Garden Party hosted by the charity’s Patron, His Majesty The King and Queen Camilla. It was also attended by the Princess Royal (Anne) and Prince Edward.

The event was held to “celebrate the contributions made by those in front line work, honouring the dedication and resilience of those who serve the nation, often without public recognition.”

The Solicitors’ Charity was represented by staff members Nick Gallagher, Abigail Stidston, Anita McCallum and Kelly, alongside volunteer trustees Shams Rahman TEP, Rory O’Keeffe, Ejike Ndaji, Robert Banner and James Brennan. It was a proud moment for the charity, recognising the vital support it provides to solicitors and their dependants across England and Wales. Through emotional, professional, physical, and financial wellbeing support, the charity helps people facing some of the most difficult moments in their lives.

Kelly and Shams Rahman TEP were presented to His Majesty The King and Queen Camilla, marking a memorable moment for the charity and its representatives. The Garden Party brought together people from a wide range of charities that provide support and have frontline roles, including other occupation support charities, homeless support organisationsand many others whose work supports individuals and communities across the country.

For The Solicitors’ Charity, the invitation was a meaningful recognition of the role the charity plays in supporting the legal profession, often quietly and behind the scenes. And for Shams Rahman, our previous Chair, it marked both a proud poignant moment for him as his term of office as a serving trustee for the charity comes to an end. The day was also a reminder of the importance of recognising those who provide support when it is needed most.
